Angela Cooper BA (Hons) MSC DHC
Angela is a qualified couple counsellor. This is in addition
to her one-to-one client work. Enquiries are welcome via the
Centre, and prospective clients can have a short talk with
Angela if they wish, before deciding whether they want to
go ahead and arrange an initial consultation.
What
is Couple Counselling?
Couple counselling allows partners to explore a wide
variety of issues ranging from communication to sexual.
Often, the first step is to identify the problem and
understand what is causing it, before looking at what
and how to change.
Goal setting and the ability to define and recognise
changes are important in the initial and the review
stages of the work.
Individual problems may contribute to the presenting
couple dilemma. This may be resolved within the couple
context, or where it is more deep seated may require
some additional one-to-one work.
The development of any relationship is seen as a reflection
of personal development, and clients are encouraged
to reflect on their own processes as well as those
of the partner. The learning of new 'tools' - such
as assertion and communication skills are a part of
the process of change.
Anyone wishing to discuss things further is welcome
to ring the Centre on 01242 584140 for more information,
without commitment.
