Emotional
Therapy
There is a volume of evidence suggesting that the suppression
of emotions can lead to ill health, persistent unhappiness,
anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive behaviour, addictions,
relationship problems, eating disorders, suicidal feelings,
unhealthy excesses and many other related problems.
Emotional Therapy has similarities with conventional
counselling although there are also important differences.
Rather than simply using the mind to analyse symptoms
it seeks to promote healing of the original emotional
wounds by working through the feelings.
It befriends the spirit of the client so that healing
can take place naturally, out of their own efforts to
explore and understand their problems.
The treatment
The therapist assists and supports the client by acknowledging,
accepting and dealing with suppressed emotional pain
in a healthy, integrated way. As well as talking and
listening, the therapy uses the client's own natural
inner healing creativity, thus empowering the client
and bringing a greater self-knowledge and personal strength
from which they can more effectively cope with, and
enrich, their lives.
Feelings and emotions ranging from anger, guilt, fear,
resentment, loss and grief, low self-esteem and self-worth,
all of which may manifest in relationship problems, confusion,
physical emotional and mental stress can be helped by
emotional therapy.
Psychotherapy with Natasha Bell
The approach used is Jungian, helping clients towards
understanding and managing the current issues they bring
to work towards finding deeper meaning and purpose in
life. Counselling is integral to the work we do together
and clients are encouraged to be involved in the process
through a variety of techniques, for example journal
work.
Confidentiality
Therapy work is confidential and whilst Natasha has
supervision for this work, the personal details of clients
are not divulged, no one can be identified as a result.
Supervision is an important aspect of this work, ensuring
that a sound, structured focus is maintained for the
therapy.
Sessions
The number and length of sessions can be negotiated
and may vary from person to person. This can be discussed
at an initial consultation which is free of charge.
Sessions are reviewed between therapist and client and
joint decisions are made for future work.
