Reactions to food and drink can cause discomfort for many people. The elimination method can sometimes find the cause of the problem, but often this is inconclusive, particularly if there is more than one food that is causing the problem. Often the quickest route to establish whether there is a true intolerance is with the help of of a test.
We offer two routes for allergy and intolerance testing:
- Clinical Testing (finger prick blood test) with our Nutritional Therapists or
- Non-invasive testing with a BER device
With the guidance of a registered Nutritional Therapist people can then eliminate the problem ingredients from their diet. Sometimes, where foods are causing intolerances not allergies, people can eventually get over the problem as their immune system resets itself. Once adequately rested and repaired the gut can often heal itself to allow the reintroduction of previous problem foods and drinks.
We offer a simple finger-prick test to identify foods which may be causing an adverse effect. The test is a rapid colorimetric ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) for the measurement of IgG antibodies to a selection of commonly eaten foods. This is sent off to a lab where their analysis looks at IgG immune responses, ie. delayed responses to foods. This differs from the NHS testing route which would look at IgE responses which are for immediate reactions. Over 45% of the population react adversely to foods that they eat, which whilst not life threatening, can have a massive impact on someone’s quality of work and home life. Food intolerance may cause a range of symptoms including gut symptoms, bloating, headaches, migraines, low mood, fatigue, weight gain and skin problems. It is common for people to try and eliminate foods from their diet to help themselves feel better. Often they don’t know which foods to try and eliminate and have to guess. Should you have multiple intolerances then this method makes it extremely difficult to pinpoint the offending foods. Testing is painless and the results are available within 7 days. The results are then discussed at a full consultation, which then looks at your whole diet, and other factors, such as stress, gut bacteria and enzyme levels, hormonal imbalances etc which may be affecting how you are feeling. I will suggest food replacements, and provide the advice and guidance you need implement any dietary changes with confidence and success.”
The cost for a full consultation (75 minutes) including a full medical history and diet analysis and the test is £200.

Intolerance and Allergy Testing – BER (Bio-Electronic Regulator)
Using a Bio-electronic Regulator we can test for food intolerances and allergies, environmental allergens and vitamin and mineral deficiency
HOW DOES IT WORK?
- Our equipment is a Bio- electronic regulator devised in Germany in the 1950’s
- It is registered medical equipment both in Germany and under European law
- We check for allergies by reading an acupuncture point on the hand, measuring the resistance in the body towards the exposed substance – it is a non-invasive procedure.
- The test takes approximately one hour
- Gives instant results on over 150 foods, 50 environmental allergens plus a vitamin and mineral deficiency check
The aim of our testing is not only to identify people’s triggers but also to de-sensitise them to the offending substances.
We rarely send people away from a test saying ‘you will never be able to eat this again’ – we identify what the root cause is:
- Overload of toxins or waste product in the system from partially digested or undigested food
- Caused by: – prescription drugs, hormonal changes, too much adrenaline caused by stress or our environment, poor diet choices
- About Niki

Niki Cox is a food intolerance and allergy tester. Using a bio-electronic regulator she can test for food intolerances and allergies, environmental allergens and vitamin and mineral deficiency.
It was her own family’s various allergies that first introduced her to Allergy Test UK. After the life-changing effects she saw it have on them she was inspired to train and become the franchise holder for Cheltenham and the Cotswolds.
Niki works with people of any age, testing for food sensitivities and intolerances. She uses a non-invasive bio-electronic regulator which reads an acupuncture point on the hand. Her treatment involves eliminating the food identified in the test, underpinned by nutritional advice and support.
She has completed 2 training courses to intermediate level (Dip BER 1 & 2) and meets regularily with the other franchise holders constantly updating with case histories and new findings.
